Just after one global disease class, it has become exceedingly clear how important clean water truly is. Diarrhoeal disease is fifth on the list of WHO's top 10 causes of death worldwide, responsible for 2,460,000 deaths globally in 2008. Dr. Broverman told us a rather morbid joke that even if there was a single pill to cure AIDS that we could get to every person who needed it, the water used to swallow the pill would kill a huge percentage of that population. Dr. Broverman told us a rather morbid joke that even if there was a single pill to cure AIDS that we could get to every person who needed it, the water used to swallow the pill would kill a huge percentage of that population.
