Name Debacle
My full name is Lee Cannon Palms, Jr., but I go by my middle name, Cannon. I am frequently asked where the name Cannon came from; it was the maiden name of my grandmother on my father's side.

Matlab Demonstrations
My favorite Matlab demonstration is the implementation of Conway's Game of Life. Last year for a Comp Sci class I had to implement Conway's Game of Life in Java. Interestingly, the Game of Life is a universal Turing machine, meaning that anything that can be computed algorithmically can be computed within the Game of Life.
