About Me

My name is Jennifer Hewitt, and I am a freshman at Duke University. I am planning to major in Biomedical Engineering. I enjoy playing tennis and soccer in my free time. My favorite book is Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, and my favorite television show is The Office.

Future Plans

During my time at Duke University, I hope to study abroad in Spain, and I would also like to participate in Duke University's Duke Engage program. After graduation I plan to attend medical school, possibly studying endocrinology.

Grand Challenges of Engineering Article

At MIT, scientists have been studying a monkey's brain, hoping to successfully reverse-engineer the brain.

MATLAB

My favorite MATLAB demonstration is the 3-D drawing. When I first opened the demonstration, I was not sure how difficult it would be to create a shape. However, this demo allows making 3-D objects, a seemingly difficult task, actually quite simple. This demonstration allows us to go one step beyond just visualization of the shapes and actually create them.
