About me
I am a freshman Pratt student hoping to major in electrical engineering.
Interests
Things that I wish I could do are longboard, snowboard, surf, breakdance, hip hop dance, and sing.
Activities
I like to play sports, especially soccer and tennis. I enjoy watching and playing video games. I like to spend time with my family and friends.
Aspirations
I would very much like to graduate with a BS degree in electrical engineering within 4 years. I hope to work in robotics in some way, shape, or form, and I think it would be awesome to build a robot that works.
Name Pronunciation
My first name is Emily, pronounced EM-i-lee, "em" as in M&m's, "i" as in ill, and "lee" as in Bruce Lee. My last name is Lim, pronounced like a tree limb.
MATLAB Demonstrations
My favorite MATLAB demonstration is the Earth's Topography demo. At first when I saw the contour plot of the Earth, I thought "no big deal." However, when I saw the correct shading that corresponded with the altitude data given, I was pretty surprised. Then when I saw the globe, I was amazed how a few data points became a 3-dimensional real life figure. I also thought it was funny how the function to do what seems to be a complex task is just called "sphere" which is like stating the obvious. I favored it over the Loma Prieta Earthquake demonstration because it was more aesthetic. Although it was not as cool-looking as some of the gallery demos, I liked how it portrayed a real life application.
