Who I Am

My name is Gabriel Kroch. This, in and of itself, is already an issue for most people. People, Gabriel is a male name. It is not Gabrielle. This is not hard. Kroch is hard. It's not crotch, and middle school was a terrible time. It's pronounced like the shoe or, even better, like the man-eating reptile (croc). I'm from a town outside Philly called Swarthmore. Yes, if you've heard of it, it's the same one. Fun fact of the page: I play jazz violin and rugby. Which are not similar....like at all.

MATLAB Demo

My favorite MATLAB demonstration is the "Loma Prieta Earthquake" demo, for several reasons. First, it shows relevant, real world data, and demonstrates how to manipulate that data. Second, it emphasizes the discrete world of computer programming. Integrals are not continual dt sums, but rather cumulative summation. Plotting is similarly done. There is a computational cost for detail. Finally, the demo produces and shows some of the cool plotting capabilities of MATLAB.
