While going through the demonstration for MatLab I learned that Albrecht Durer was one of the first artists to incorporate mathematical matrices into artwork.  His infamous magical matrix is magical because when either its rows, columns, or diagonals are summed up they all give the same number; 34. I also learned how to utilize the random integer command to create a matrix that gives a matrix with evenly distributed integers which can become rather useful for statistical inquiry.
