I am planning to major in Civil Engineering as well as Public Policy. I trust both fields are complementary in designing and sustaining social systems aka communities. I love exploring mathematics and enjoy investigating physical phenomena. In addition, philosophy is one of those things I spend a lot of time reading about. All of this culminates in a strong interest in anything involving problem solving.

About Me

Biographical Snapshot

I am the youngest of two children. I am a blue devil from the class of 2014. Born and raised in Ivory Coast, I am a Togolese citizen. I graduated from ALA (African Leadership Academy) as part of the inaugural class in June 2010.

My name is Dagbedji Fagnisse. Phonetically, it can be approximated by : /dag͡bədʒi fa:ñise/. I would suggest you try to pronounce it from the normal spelling (I find it less misleading); I promise I won't go mad if you massacre it. I also go by Deo (from my middle name DeoGratias). Please feel free to ask me about the meaning of my names if you see me around.

Academic Interests

I am planning to major in Civil Engineering as well as Public Policy. I trust both fields are complementary in designing and sustaining social systems aka communities. I love exploring mathematics and enjoy investigating physical phenomena. In addition, philosophy is one of those things I spend a lot of time reading about. All of this culminates in a strong interest in anything involving problem solving.

Hobbies

I enjoy singing basse in choir or vocal group. I play soccer, central back, not competitively though. I have fun debating and challenging viewpoints, starting with my own. I also watch and read action/adventure Japanese Manga.

    • The function magic is pretty intriguing. I am wondering what the code behind it looks like.
    • I have been impressed at the moment more by the rref function than by anything else. This function makes it extremely easy to resolve systems of N equations with N unknown, just by two hits on the return key.
