Best MATLAB Demonstration

The best MATLAB demonstration I found was one for explaining how to make a graphical user interface (GUI). I have a small background programming in C and it seems that MATLAB has a lot of built in infrastructure which allows you to make GUIs very quickly. As I read, MATLAB is based on C and so I can relate to it well.

MATLAB comes with a GUI creation file which can readily accommodate push buttons to call functions to act on inputted values. You can also display graphics like graphs and even do automatic coloring of the graph.

The major downfall of these GUIs is that they are not transportable unlike the ones in C. You must have MATLAB running in order to use them. If they could be saved as a .exe file and taken in an isolated form they would be very powerful.
