Grand Challenge
Scientists are hoping that they found a source of infinite clean energy. ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) is a 15 billion dollar project set to conclude in 2018.

MATLAB Demos
My favorite MATLAB demo is probably the Earth's Topography demo. I like seeing the creation of the globe with such a short and simple code. I also enjoyed most of the other Graphics demos, like the penny demo and the surface plots demo.
