Favorite Matlab Demo

My favorite Matlab example is the "Visualizing Sound" App. Scrolling and playing through all of the sounds, I find it very exciting that we can now map sounds just by finding and plotting attributes such as power, frequency, and time elapsed. Being a big music guy, I find this super intriguing as we could possibly have a new meaning to "sight reading" in the future or a new type of system that can identify sounds just by plugging some numbers in. The Strange Acoustic Phenomenon Behind These Wacked-Out Versions of Pop Songs This link leads to an article on a relatively new discovery to auditory recognition by the brain when just listening to MIDI converted songs. Essentially, our brain is able to make out the beats and melodies to the popular songs just from a scramble of wavelengths being played. This is the reason why I found the "Visualizing Sound" App as my favorite Matlab demo.
