About Me

I am a current freshman planning on majoring in Biomedical Engineering on the pre-med track with a double minor in Chemistry and Linguistics at Duke University. I attended Northside Health Careers High School in San Antonio, Texas, where I have lived for the past 12 years.

Background

My family is South Korean. As such, my last name "Kang" is actually pronounced "Gahng", but most Korean-Americans have romanized this pronunciation to simply "Kang".

Career Aspirations

I hope to attend medical school and eventually become an orthopedic surgeon. Attending a high school focused in the medical field allowed me to shadow surgeons in the hospital, and this was a great factor in influencing my decision to go into the medical field.
