Grand Challenge

The grand challenge I've chosen is Making Solar Energy More Economical. It's a field I hope to work in, in the future, after I pursue my degree in Materials Science and Engineering (Mechanical Engineering):

Solar Panel Productivity Boosted by Origami , Charles Q. Choi, TechNewsDaily, Created 25th February 2010, Accessed 8th September 2010 (Making Solar Energy More Economical)

Favorite Demo

  • I actually have a couple of favorites.
  • I "enjoyed" Minesweeper the most (for obvious reasons). Although I was slightly disappointed that there's no reward when you actually finish the game. I was expecting a "Hurrah!" or "Congratulations! You're brilliant!" at the end of it.
  • I also liked the 3-D Drawing Demo involving the creation of a vase. I thought it was pretty impressive how a 3-D image could be created out simply a few coordinates. Although I didn't understand too much of the code, I would like to work on projects like this in the future for sure.
