About Me
Alexander Borsy Turdean was born in Frankfurt, Germany on May 12th 1992. At the age of four he moved to London, England and has lived there ever since. He is an American and UK citizen that loves both sides of the pond equally but also knows that London is where home really lies. He has also had enough of describing himself in third person. I came to Duke to study Civil Engineering, specifically I want to do the architectural engineering degree. In my free time I like to exercise, all for vanity's sake, learn Persian (Rosetta Stone), kite board and ski. I like all types of food and music appart from peppers (the vegetable, the red hot chili peppers are AMAZING) screamo and lady gaga. Am a member of Giles (the superior dorm) House council and im the DADC of the group. I'm also a member of the A-Train and feel free to call me by the first fout letters of my last name, at least ill know its me an not one of the 50 other Alex's on campus that you are talking to. I am also Dyslexic so I really do apologize in advance for my terrible grammar and spelling, I just do not see or understand my mistakes when it comes to writing, thank god for spell check.
Name Pronunciation
Well I'm sure you all know how to say my first name, if not its Alex-and-er, my last name is pronounced Turd-e-an with a little less emphasis on the 'e', its a Romanian name the literally means my family is from the town of Turda (near Cluj) in Transylvania.

Matlab
My Favorite demonstrations are probably the 'Game of Life' and Klein Bottle demonstrations. The Klein bottle has always intrigued me and as a child I foolishly set out to make one at the age of 10, being able to generate a render of on using Matlab is very cool by my books. "The game of Life" used to run 24-7 in the biology labe at my old school, it always amused me how no one species ever became dominant which is what I would have expected so this little demo also has a small personal importance to me.
Have a Great Day!
