Summary

Connor Tinen was born in Cincinnati, Ohio; grew up in St. Louis, Missouri; technically resides in Dallas, Texas; but now calls Duke University home. He is a freshman in mechanical engineering who is also interested in public policy, government, economics, and international relations. He loves to rock climb, swing, dance, build things, and, most of all, spend time with people. His Catholic faith is the driving force of his life, and it, in his words, "hopefully, affects everything I do." He is also interested in the development of future energy technologies, including the continued development of nuclear fusion. Additionally, Connor is greatly enjoying his first semester at Duke University, particularly his computational methods of engineering course (he also really enjoys brown-nosing). As part of that course he recently had the pleasure of viewing the 3-D Drawing Tutorial in MATLAB, which he really enjoyed as he has spent time utilizing the revolve tool in several 3-D modeling programs, and none seemed quite as functional as their MATLAB counterpart—an impressive feat for a primarily math focused program.
