About Me
I am a freshman in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University. I am currently considering majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I also am intersted in Economics.
I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia but, I have lived in Asia for the past 15 years. The countries that I have lived in include Japan, Indonesia, and Taiwan. I love to travel, play sports, listen to good music, and work with wood.
MATLAB Demonstations
My favorite of the MATLAB demonstrations was the Game of Life example. I thought it was very interesting how you could run a program to predict, or in this case, set rules to dictate which cells stayed alive and which ones died. This so called game has relatively simple rules but complex results. It follows strict rules but also, has an element of randomness to it as each dot is initially placed in a random position. I really enjoy this as I can see applications for this technique when modeling different social events, or even certain markets.
